Zaka Man Kills Colleague After His Request For A Token Of Appreciation Is Turned Down
A 35-year-old Zaka man reportedly struck and killed a colleague with a chair on Monday.
It is alleged that the accused Pedzisai Chivere, who is currently on the run, committed the crime after he felt offended by his request for a token of appreciation that the deceased, Munzwa Mucheni turned down.
Masvingo Provincial spokesperson Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident to The Mirror.
According to a Police report, it is alleged that at around 9am the accused and deceased were at a dip tank in Matara Village, dipping their cattle when Chivere helped Munzwa to release his cow that had been trapped between some poles.
It is alleged that around 3pm, Chivere was talking to a shopkeeper at Machacha Business Centre when the now-deceased Munzwa arrived and the former demanded a drink as a thank you for helping to release the trapped cow earlier.
Further allegations say when the deceased failed to meet the request, Chivere took a wooden chair he was sitting on and hit Munzwa once on the head.
Munzwa reportedly fell down heavily and bled. He was rushed to Mashoko Mission Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
