Former Cape Coast North Member of Parliament Barbara Asher Ayisi has voiced out her desire and passion for her newfound role as the Chairperson of the Women’s Super Cup 2021.
The Women’s Premier League Super Cup is a newly introduced competition for WPL Clubs and is set to begin at the end of the 2020/21 season.
The top four teams from the Northern and Southern Zones at the end of the season will participate in the competition.
The rationale for the new competition is to give clubs more games outside the League campaign to make them competitive and to add to the limited number of games that are played in the course of the season.
Mrs Barbara Asher Ayisi after her appointment expressed her joy for her new role and her readiness to take women’s football to a whole new level.
As a lover of football herself, Mrs. Barbara Ayisi says she is poised at unleashing the hidden talents beneath football in players of the women’s cup.
“Every member of our committee has a key role to play in reaching our set goals. With this I entreat all institutions, corporate organizations, etc to rally their support behind us financially to help accomplish this mission. We need the same support given to male football to show the world what we can make out of the female footballers as well.” she said
The newly constituted committee charged with the organization of the competition will be chaired by former Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North.
