A former Deputy Information Minister under the erstwhile Mahama administration, Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu has aimed yet another dig at the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in a latest write-up.
In a Facebook post sighted by MyNewsGhana.net on Monday, August 16, Mr Kwakye Ofosu slammed Dr Bawumia for criticising then-President Mahama over the cost of some hospital projects.
He reminded Dr Bawumia of accusing the Mahama administration of inflating the hospital project while painting an erroneous impression that an NPP government could undertake similar projects with less amount of money.
He concluded that time has indeed exposed Dr Bawumia since numerous hospital projects being undertaken by this government cost far more than what was used during the Mahama era.
Read his short write up below.
“In 2018, Vice President Bawumia claimed that the average cost of building an 80 bed District Hospital pegged at $25 million was too much and that his government could build 5 same hospitals out of it.
He also claimed that Dangote built a 1000 bed hospital for $12 million so projects under the NDC were inflated.
Time has vindicated the position we took that he was, as usual, peddling lies. Today, his government has cut sod to build a 100-bed hospital in Shama for $41 million and we are told that the cost of one of the much-vaunted Agenda 111 District Hospitals is $ 17 million which is higher than the phantom $ 12 million 1000 bed Dangote Hospital. It also shows that his claim that they could build 5 District Hospitals for $ 25 million was a calculated lie” he wrote.
