This comes less than 24 hours after the station employed her. The actual reason for the decision is not known, however, a social media user on Twitter with the handle, @AnnanPerry is alleging that it was the government who ordered the station to sack the media personality.
In a post he made, he said;
“Are you wondering why Bridget Otoo didn’t show up on #NewsNight at 7pm, Akufo Addo/Bawumia/Npp government have instructed the owners of metro tv to sack her with immediate effect because she bashes them and a supporter of John Mahama.”
Another social media user tried to confirm the post and in his post, he wrote;
“This is actually TRUE! The government has asked Metro TV to sack Bridget. This Akufo-Addo government is a cancerous tumor on our democracy.”
The journalist was hired by the station to be the host of their News Night which airs from 7 pm to 8 pm from Monday to Friday, however, it seems we won’t be seeing her on our screens for some time since the deal has been terminated. She is yet to confirm or deny this as Ghanaians still continue to share their opinions.
