Medeama Sporting Club picked a 2-1 away win against Asante Kotoko at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in a Ghana Premier League matchday 21 game to go top of the league table.
An early effort from Emmanuel Gyamfi was cancelled out by Prince Opoku-Agyemang, and Richard Boadu struck the winner late in the first-half.
Imoro Ibrahim combined with Augustine Okrah before sending a cross into the box. Emmanuel Gyamfi reacted well and headed it low into the bottom corner to give the hosts the lead after 13-minutes.
Prince Opoku-Agyemang capitalized on a loose marking inside the Porcupine Warriors’ penalty area to shoot into the left bottom corner to make it 1-1 on the half-hour mark.
Richard Boadu scored Medeama’s second and the winner after his long-range shot came off a defender of Asante Kotoko on first-half stoppage time.
The result means Medeama are now league leaders with 36 points after 21 rounds of games in the Ghana Premier League. Kotoko are one-point adrift today’s opponent.
