Private Legal practitioner and member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Lawyer Evans Amankwaa has emphasized that the party will get more votes in the Ashanti Region if only the party elects a leader who is tactical and radical as regional Chairman.
Lawyer Evans Amankwaa has declared his intentions to contest as Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party in his quest unseat the current regional Chairman Augustus Nana Akwasi.
Speaking in an interview with Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo monitored by MyNewsGh.com said “Being a regional Chairman in a stronghold of NPP is a serious task which needs a person who can stand all the intimidation from NPP and the government”.
According to him, “2024 is a must-win for NDC but a leader who is tactical and radical but not timid… secure more votes for NDC in the Ashanti Region”.
“Even the current Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC Augustus Nana Akwasi is aware that the work is difficult for him because he is a coward and he is afraid of the intimidation from the NPP regional executives and government appointees” Lawyer Evans Amankwaa noted.
“NDC needs a person who is hungry and determined to win power for the party as a regional Chairman not a person who is using the party to do his own business. I have confidence that the delegates of the party will give me the opportunity to serve the party as regional Chairman because the delegates are hungry for power”.
Lawyer Evans Amankwaa added that “I can assure NDC delegates if I’m given the mandate to lead the party, I will work tirelessly to capture power for the party”
“With the kind of leadership NDC needs in Ashanti Region, going into 2024 with Augustus Nana Akwasi as the regional Chairman will seriously affect the party’s chance to get more votes in the region” he added.
“Some of the executives in Ashanti Region were hungry for power so they were working tirelessly to capture power for NDC but the current regional Chairman Augustus Nana Akwasi became a hindrance with the intention that they are doing his work. Team work makes a dream work and I can assure that with the unity I will bring to the party in Ashanti Region, NDC will secure more votes in Ashanti Region to help the party win the 2024 general elections”. He stressed.
