The Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako has said that the High Court ruling on the Achimota School Rastafarian students should trigger the Ghana Education Service(GES) to trigger its mandate overall Senior High Schools(SHSs) across the country.
He believes that this is the time the GES should codify laid down rules and regulations that will be binding on Senior High Schools in the country.
“I think it should trigger the Ghana Education Service to exercise its mandate, its supervisory role over all these schools that come under its ambit. Consolidate, compile, codify certain rules that all the schools will deal with as an umbrella body.” He revealed this during a radio discussion monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
In recent times, the powers of the Ghana Education Service has been challenged by the Achimota School same with the Wesley Girls school when the Service directed that female Muslim students of the school should be allowed to fast during the Ramadan.
