It’s unfair to compare MPs and their performances

The Member of Parliament(MP) for Nabdam Constituency  Dr. Mark Kurt Nawane has asked Ghanaians to stop comparing the performances of Members of Parliament.

He believes that it will be unfair to compare legislators who have their private businesses thriving to those who depend solely on their salaries.

The Nabdam legislator made this known when he spoke on Bolgatnga-based Dreamz FM.

“An MP who does not have a private business going on will survive but with a lot of problems. That’s why usually I don’t like people comparing MP’s. After a deduction of your car loan, whatever is left is nothing to write home about,” he said.

For him who has his private business, he has enough funds to support his constituents financially and health-wise but that cannot be said about MPs who depend solely on their salaries.

“By the time I went into politics I had established two hospitals. One with 40 beds and one with 80 beds. I also operated a school that has both Primary and Junior High School and won the Head of State Award for the Central region. So I was sure that in terms of finances going, I don’t think there was that problem. So I don’t want us to be comparing,” he said.
