I respect the age and practice of the CJ so I cant speak ‘anyhow’

Private legal practitioner, Sammy Gyamfi is choosing his words meticulously to describe actions of the Chief Justice (CJ), Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah over the latter’s petition against a former Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine.

“I’m nowhere near the CJ in terms of age and in practice. I can’t behave anyhow before our Justices”, the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s National Communications Officer respectfully vowed on Kumasi-based Akoma FM morning show monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

It would be recalled that the Chief Justice petitioned the General Legal Council(GLC) to institute disciplinary proceedings against Dr. Ayine for allegedly questioning the independence of the judiciary.

The opposition NDC at a presser addressed by General Secretary of the party, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia wants the CJ as a matter of fact, to withdraw the petition filed against a member of the party and Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dr. Ayine before the General Legal Counsel over claims that the former Deputy Attorney General made disparaging remarks about the justices of the Supreme Court.

Speaking to Akoma FM’s Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin, the outspoken politician cum lawyer completely backs the decision of NDC calling the CJ to rescind his decision.

“As a lawyer, I can only appeal to CJ to rescind that decision. I can’t order him. I could only appeal in a respectful manner”, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi begged.
