It has emerged that the Anglican Priest Reverend Father B. Obeng Larbi who was the Head of the Legal Unit of the Ghana Education Service in the Ashanti Region led the disciplinary Committee of GES to investigate Kumasi High School Assistant Head over sodomy allegations.
In a letter dated November 20, 2018 and signed by the Head of the Legal Unit of the Directorate, Reverend Father B. Obeng Larbi, the GES directed Mr Amponsah-Duodu to appear before the disciplinary committee on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.
“You are to respond in writing and forward your response to the Regional Director within five days, stating any grounds upon which you wish to rely to be exonerated from the charge,’’ the letter stated.
Reverend Father B. Obeng Larbi who is a legal brain has now come under immense criticism after a video of him kissing students during a church service went viral on social media on Monday.
The Anglican Church has since started investigating issues with regards to the video and has expressed its sadness emanating from the immoral act the Priest has indulged in.
“The Church is saddened by the news and wishes to state expressly that, thorough investigation has immediately been instituted into the matter and the action of the said Priest would be dealt with in accordance with the norms and values of the Anglican Communion where morality is extremely revered in the Church”, the church said in an August 17 statement.
Meanwhile, “…all efforts are being made to engage the students concerned through counselling sessions to avert any psychological issues that may arise at a result of the viral video”.
