Group kicks against Faustina Amisssah’s reappointment as Obuasi East DCE

A Youth Group affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Obuasi East District have kicked against the reappointment of the current District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area.

According to the Group, Miss Faustina Amisssah failed in her mandate to ensure the needed development in the District and cannot be given a second opportunity to fulfil her parochial interest and not that of the party and the District.

The Youth believe that her reappointment into the august position of District Chief Executive (DCE) will not only lead the party to defeat in the District in the next election but will also make the agenda of breaking the eight an impossible venture.

The Youth in their statement reminded the President that “It is not surprising however that, during one of the routine visits of the president to Fomena, the much revered Adansihene, Opagyakotwere Bonsra Afriyie ll, made a strong appeal to the president not to ever impose the DCE and MCE of Obuasi East and Obuasi Municipal respectively again on the people of Adansi because of their gross incompetence and abuse of office coupled with their deep involvement in galamsey activities”.

To them reappointing her will add steam to allegations that the government and some people at the Presidency enjoyed from her galamsey activities hence the support.

They believe that there are other competent people who have the party at heart and are good mobilizers to lead the District and the President will make the right choice.
