Former Minister’s mansion ‘swims’; properties worth millions of cedis destroyed


Former Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Samuel Sarpong has become a victim of the last Wednesday’s downpour which caused destruction to many properties including his mansion worth several millions of Ghana Cedis in the region.

The regional capital of Kumasi Wednesday hit by massive floods, which destroyed several valuable items and caused nightmarish moments for the hapless residents.

Surprisingly, it rained in the Garden City for less than 40 minutes, but the after effects of the rain were horrible as the rainwater caused huge destruction to properties, running into millions of Ghana Cedis.

Speaking to the development, the former Ashanti Regional Minister under John Mahama administration laid blame on the doorsteps of the city authorities.

“As former Mayor, I can tell you that all the Assemblies in the region are failing us. Politics has crippled them to work effectively”, the former KMA mayor stated.
