Recall the conveners of the #FixTheCountry protest couple of days ago revealed their intentions of protesting on the streets of Accra on May 9th, 2021 convening at the iconic Black Stars Square. But their intentions of protesting on the streets were met with a counter attack from the Accra Regional Police Command who stated they will do everything possible to stop the group from protesting.

One of the conveners of the group, actress and model Efia Odo insisted the group will hit the streets of Accra to protest on the said no matter what the police service will do, but that decision hit a standing block when the police successfully obtained a restraining order from the Accra High Court prevent the group from embarking on the intended protest.

Well, yesterday was the slated date for the protest and many Ghanaians were in much anticipation to see or hear that indeed the #FixTheCountry

protest conveners went ahead to protest on the streets of Accra after the court’s order.

It seems the Ghana Police Service were also ready and well prepared for the protestors after a couple of videos surfaced on the internet yesterday where the police were seen laying ambush to some vintage points leading to the Black Star Square, but to the surprise of the police, not a single soul showed up for the event.

The host of the popular ‘Around Town’ show on Citi TV chanced on the police after a couple of hours of unsuccessful ambush driving off the scene. He alleged that the police were ready to spray hot water on protestors had they shown up for the event.
